South-east Queensland is home to an abundance of mammal life, although much of it is rarely seen and often misidentified. Join Martin Fingland from Geckoes Wildlife to meet some of our local small, brown and furry friends up close and learn how to identify them from the traces they leave behind! Cultivating native bonsai workshop

Learn the ancient art of cultivating your own bonsai, with a local native plant from the IndigiScapes nursery. You will learn shaping, wiring and pruning techniques and admire a display of native bonsai from the Redlands Bonsai Society. All materials provided, but please bring a small, sharp pair of scissors to use. Cost is $5 plus $25 deposit (refundable on the day).
Stick around afterwards for the Bonsai Show using native trees which will run from 9.30am - 4pm.

An in-depth, practical look at the most majestic of birds – the raptors. Raptors range from the commonly found Whistling Kite and the magnificent Wedge-tailed Eagle, to the world’s fastest bird, the Peregrine Falcon. Spend some time learning about their ecology and identification before heading into the field. Please bring sun protection, drinking water and binoculars. Help out Redlands koalas by joining us for our annual Koala community planting. Join in the fun of creating a new area of bushland, focusing on planting the favourite food trees of local koalas. Stay after the planting for a sausage sizzle and take home a free native plant!
